I managed to return to Crete in 1968. By then the country had been overthrown by a junta of military colonels. Goodbye democracy. All the political parties were banned and in Athens tanks had entered the Polytechnic University.
All this had happened in 1967, so returning to Crete in 1968 brought a few problems. But I survived them, as you will see . . .
